Here are 10 things I learned this week while Owen and I were in Memphis...
1. Owen doesn't need much Mama time when Grandad and CeCe are around.
2. You shouldn't buy a sack of potatoes and try to make your own chips...you just might eat the entire sack.
3. Men like to eat pizza right out of the box...whether they are 63 or 2.
4. It's exciting to wait for a train to come, catch up to it and have the engineer wave and honk at you.
5. My Dad drives really fast when he is trying to catch a train.
6. Owen likes getting his haircut...if he can sit in Grandad's lap and eat two suckers at the same time.
7. You can meet some really nice people at the train table inside Barnes and Noble.
8. Being around your parents makes you feel loved and comforted. And it makes you feel like a kid...even when you're 33.
9. It IS possible to make the drive from Memphis to Knoxville with a two year old and a dog even when it takes 7 1/2 hours because of a delay on the interstate. It's possible, if you are lucky enough to have a two year old who is absolutely awesome and happily entertained by train movies and a cute little dog who sleeps the entire way.
10. If you are sitting still on the interstate for an hour and a half...don't get mad...find something to be thankful for. Be thankful it wasn't YOUR Mom, Dad, husband, wife, sister, brother or child who was in an accident.
