15 years. So much has changed, yet so much remains the same.
Love is patient. Love is kind. Love never fails.
Life is hard. Life is busy. Life gets in the way of a good marriage and a good family.
It's so easy to get distracted by the things that don't matter and lose sight of the things that do.
This year, our anniversary looked a little different.
Owen is at away camp. Reed is staying at the lakehouse. Justin has covid.
He tried to muster up the energy to go to dinner, but when his fever shot up to almost 102, he decided to stay in bed.
We did sit at the bar together for a few minutes. I drank wine while he ate a bowl of cereal.
And that's perfectly fine.
Honestly, we've made it through anniversaries so much worse than this.
If covid is the worst thing happening in our lives right now, I would say we are doing pretty good.
God is good. He saved our marriage for a reason and He has big plans for us.
Looking forward to many more years of trying to get it right.
We are just getting started.
